As they drove to the abortion clinic, the atmosphere in the car was tense. Neither of them spoke a word, lost in their own thoughts. Jodie kept thinking about the baby she would never get to hold, while John couldn't shake off the image of Jodie being violated by Gary.  As they arrived at the clinic, John couldn't help but notice Jodie's discomfort.

It had been two months since the incident with Gary. They had to confront the reality that she was pregnant with Gary's child.

The thought of carrying that monster's baby made Jodie sick to her stomach. She had always wanted to have a child, but not like this. Not with a constant reminder of the pain and trauma she had experienced.

John had been at a loss for words when she first told him. He wanted to support her in whatever decision she made, but he couldn't hide the hurt and disappointment in his eyes. They both knew that they had to abort the baby.

As they entered the clinic, they were greeted by a hot blonde receptionist. Jodie noticed John staring at her and couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy giving him an angry stare, but after all, she was carrying the child of another man. Jodie quickly pushed those thoughts aside.

Jodie registered at the front desk, trying to ignore the knowing look the receptionist gave her as she scanned her paperwork. Jodie felt ashamed, as if everyone in the clinic knew her story.

They were called into a small room where a nurse explained the procedure to them. Jodie could barely listen, her mind was in a haze. But she nodded her head, knowing that this was for the best.

As she changed into a hospital gown, she glanced at John who was sitting in the corner, looking lost and broken. She wanted to comfort him, but she didn't know how. She couldn't even comfort herself.

The doctor explained the procedure to them and asked Jodie to lie down on the bed. As the doctor injected the anesthesia, Jodie felt a wave of sadness wash over her. This was not how she imagined her first pregnancy to be. John held her hand tightly, silently reassuring her that he was there for her.

As the procedure began, Jodie closed her eyes and tried to focus on something else. She felt a sharp pain as the doctor started the suction. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she thought about what could have been. John couldn't bear to see Jodie in so much pain and closed his eyes, trying not to imagine the traumatic experience she had gone through.

After what seemed like an eternity, the procedure was finally over. Jodie was physically and emotionally drained, but she felt a sense of relief knowing that it was all over. The doctor advised her to take some rest and gave her some painkillers. As they left the clinic, Jodie and John didn't speak a word to each other. They both knew that this experience had brought them closer, but it would also haunt them for the rest of their lives.

As they drove back home, Jodie held John's hand tightly and whispered, 'Thank you for being here for me.' John squeezed her hand and replied, 'I will always be here for you, no matter what.' Jodie knew that with John by her side, she could get through anything. They may have lost a baby, but they had each other, and that was all that mattered.

John and Jodie spent the evening with a nice meal, a couple of glasses of wine, and curled up together in front of a movie and fell asleep in each other’s arms.
